"M03:Spectroscopy in Mineralogy: Theory and
Experiment"
2006 Joint Assembly Meeting,
Dear Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to
announce the special issue "M03:Spectroscopy in
Mineralogy: Theory and
Experiment" that we are holding at the 2006 Joint
Assembly Meeting,
"Recent theoretical
and technological advances allow the determination of more and more properties
of minerals with increasing accuracy. This session covers a wide range of
spectroscopic methods, which are related to electronic or/and lattice dynamical
properties of minerals. Authors are encouraged to submit papers from any area
of, but not only limited to:
Raman and infrared
spectroscopy, UV/VIS and X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy, Mössbauer spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, etc.
Both contributions
concerning crystalline and non-crystalline solids are welcome.
This session will bring
together theoretical and experimental studies in an effort to enhance interdisciplinarity in mineral physics."
Sincerely yours,
Razvan Caracas and
Bjorn Mysen
