P-V-T measurements of nickel oxide (NiO) were conducted by using in situ synchrotron x-ray diffraction and a multi-anvil apparatus at National Synchrotron Light Source. Data were collected at pressures and temperatures up to 8 GPa and 1370K. Fitting the experimental data to the third-order Birch-Murnaghan equation of state yields a bulk modulus K0=202±4 GPa at a fixed K'= 4, and a temperature derivative of bulk modulus (dK/dT)P = -0.053±0.006) GPa K-1. Thermal expansion constant (a(T)= a0+a1T) were derived as a0=4.6±0.2) x10-5 and a1=0.4±0.2) x10-8.
